Last date for usage of 500 rupee notes up to 15th December mid night
The government has taken a decision to last date of usage 500 rupees notes in India for specified areas is December 15 midnight. Up to the given last date, 500 rupees notes can valid to pay for medicines, utility bills, in bank accounts. After the given last date 500 rupees note will not valid in India.
Previously the government had announced that 500 rupees can use for payment at petrol pumps, railway booking counter, toll plaza and plane tickets. Cancellation of 500 and 1000 rupees note was announced by the government on November 8th 2016. But relaxations was given to use in some areas that were extended up to 15th December 2016 midnight.
Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das tweeted that “Exemptions for use of old Rs 500 notes will end on December 15 midnight”. After the last date will not valid the old 500 rupees note also. Still, you have any 500 rupees notes, deposit in your account or use given allowable areas before the last date.
The Prime minister of India has said that the main concept for the cancelation of old 500 and 1000 rupees is demonetization and promote for cashless payment. The government has announced that payable amount up to 2000 rupees through the online transaction without tax by using credit/ debit card or digital mode.
Government department and PSU Companies are promoting for cashless payment in several areas. So many companies are making apps and programming for digital payment through mobile phones, author card or debit or credit cards.
