Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X with Snapdragon 653 and 4GB RAM is expected soon
Xiaomi is making a killing in the Indian market with its value-for-money Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3S Prime. Joining these phones is, possible, a brand new Redmi Note 4X.
The Redmi Note 4 hasn’t yet arrived in India, though we’ve heard that it’s coming sometime in January. The Note 4X is said to be a variant of the Note 4. This information was reported by BGR on the basis of a leak on Chinese social networking site Weibo.
The Redmi Note 4X is expected to come with a brand new Snapdragon 653 SoC and paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The display is expected to be a 5.5-inch IPS, Full HD unit, as on the Note 4. The Note 4 was launched in China with a 2.1GHz Helio X20 chip in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants.
The Snapdragon 653 is a minor update to the Snapdragon 652 and 650 before it. It offers a faster X9 LTE modem, a higher clock speed of 1.95GHz (up from 1.8GHz), adds support for dual cameras and up to 8GB RAM.
None of this means that we’ll see a dual-camera, 8GB RAM toting Redmi device, though. Not yet anyway.
The Redmi Note 3 has held the sub-Rs 10,000 slot for many months now and is expected to be replaced by the Redmi Note 4. We expect that the Redmi Note 4X will likely take charge of the Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 category, offering stiff competition to all comers.
